Alan Yam is a partner of China Tax & Business Advisory Services in Shanghai and is the practice leader of Consumer and Industrial Products in China for the division as well as overall leader for Automotive Industry for Asia Pacific countries. He began his career in Hong Kong in 1990 and was seconded to Shanghai in 1994.
During his professional years, Alan has developed extensive experience in providing tax and business consultation to many major US and European multinational clients investing in China. Such services include provision of tax strategy, corporate restructuring on holding and trading structure as well as inbound investment strategy. In particular, Alan has involved in providing advice in many major M&A deals, as well as post-deal integration and implementation.
Alan was voted a top tax advisor for 3 consecutive years from year 2000-2002 for Mainland China and Hong Kong in the surveys conducted by the International Tax Review.
Alan received his Bachelor of Business Administration (Professional Accountancy) in Chinese University of Hong Kong, and he obtained his Master of Business Administration from Kellogg School of Management, North Western University in Illinois. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
