Brian is a Partner of our Business Recovery Services Division in Hong Kong and Beijing. He has over 22 years of professional accounting and advisory experience in Hong Kong, mainland China and Canada. Over the past 12 years, Brian has been specializing in the provision of non-performing loan disposal, loan portfolio management, financial advisory, corporate restructuring, due diligence, negotiation support services.
Brian's major recent experiences include:
- Advising an asset management company in mainland China in various non-performance loans ("NPL") transactions, including the successful sale of a US$220 million (face value) NPL portfolio to a US-based investor group;
- Leading the loan portfolio management services provided to the US-based investor group, following the acquisition of the above-mentioned US$220 million portfolio;
- Leading two asset review engagements for a large financial institution in China, including working with various intermediary institutions to provide asset valuation, risk analysis, recovery analysis and due diligence services in relation to the assets of the financial institution; the assets locate widely in over 30 provinces and the total value of the assets exceeds RMB40 billion;
- Advising a US-based investment bank in relation to a proposed acquisition of NPL portfolios from asset management companies in mainland China;
- Leading a number of financial advisory engagements in relation to debt / corporate restructurings for companies in China and Hong Kong;
- Advising a window company of the Zhuhai Municipal People's Government in its US$700 million debt restructuring;
- Leading a restructuring engagement for a window company of the Fujian Municipal People's Government; and
- Leading a restructuring engagement for a Chinese state-owned company listed in Hong Kong.
