China Chain Store & Franchise Association and PwC China jointly carried out a special research for China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) on the financial position of China’s retailers. The study served as a reference material for policy-making of the retail industry during the financial crisis. To date, it has been carried out for three years. In this year’s report, we continue to focus on the development and changes in China’s retail companies in the post-financial crisis era. We also analysed the new trend of China’s retailers in terms of their profit and financing models. In view of the significance of mergers and acquisitions in China’s retail industry and capital market on financing and expansion of retail enterprises, we also conducted a separate analysis of these issues.
