Based in Shanghai, Jean Roux manages PricewaterhouseCoopers Forensic Services practice in China. Jean Roux has specialized in forensic investigations since 1987. Jean has been involved in numerous investigations covering a wide variety of industries including financial services, retail, manufacturing and public sector organizations. More than 40 of these cases have proceeded to either court or formal disciplinary tribunals where he has given evidence. Jean has extensive experience in investigating corruption, insurance fraud, fraud against banks and pension funds. In the majority of cases there was successful prosecution of the perpetrators plus recovery in terms of damages or of stolen funds. Jean also has extensive experience in the following forensic services: Litigation support in loss of profit claims, litigation support in various arbitration cases, recovery of financial losses due to fraud and theft, the institution of the necessary legal action to recover losses, anti-money laundering services and fraud prevention services. Jean benefits from having worked on different sides of the fence - as a former law-enforcement officer (Commercial Crime Unit South African Police), as in-house Chief Investigator of a large Insurance Company and as Director of Forensic Accounting for a number of internationally renowned auditing firms. Jean holds a B.Com LLB LLM and H Dip Arbitration, has been admitted as an Advocate of the Supreme Court of South Africa, and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. |
