Nick is a Partner in PwC’s Actuarial Services practice in Hong Kong.  He recently joined the team, having previously led another Big 4’s Life Actuarial team in Switzerland.

Nick assists insurance clients, both multinational and local, in the areas of financial reporting and valuation, risk management, finance transformation, capital modelling and deal advisory. He has experience in Europe, Asia, the US and the Middle East, having previously been based in Continental Europe and the UK.

Nick has published a range of paper on technical matters, ranging from Economic Valuation to Multi-GAAP accounting.

Nick is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and a Chartered Risk Enterprise Analyst (CERA). He holds a degree in mathematics from the University of Warwick.  

Relevant experience

  • Lead the design of a new innovative multi-GAAP accounting and reserving approach for a leading global reinsurer.
  • Supported clients with IFRS17 from a joint actuarial, accounting and systems aspect.
  • Significant buy-side M&A experience having been involved in the due diligence and valuation aspects in over 30 deals.
  • Numerous design, implementation and review projects related to Solvency II and the Swiss Solvency Test.
  • Support for a number of insurers with projection of risk capital and ORSA work.
  • Development of an ALM framework for quantifying and managing risk capital for ALM mismatches.
  • Audit and review of local statutory financials, IFRS, Embedded Value (TEV, EEV, MCEV) and internal economic capital models.
