Ruud Sommerhalder

Ruud relocated to Hong Kong in September 2017 as the leader for PwC‘s Asia insurance practice.

Ruud brings his experience on how to work with executive board members across the globe and how to lead global teams. Ruud works with teams across the globe regarding digital projects, such as automating claims and fraud detection in health, analytics for call centers, and mobile insurance applications and device insurance. He also has vast experience IPO readiness with a focus on working capital statements, actuarial modelling, mitigating risks in reporting and cultural change, actuarial modernization and finance transformation.

Ruud joined PwC in 1997 and has worked across in the US, Germany and the Netherlands with the firm. Ruud started his career an academic teaching international and European taxation in 1989 at the Erasmus University and holds a PhD.
