Partner, PwC Hong Kong
Shelley So is a partner with PwC’s Global Accounting Consulting Services (GACS). She advises clients and PwC teams on complex IFRS accounting and financial reporting issues. She also assists clients in the implementation of new accounting standards. She specialises in accounting for acquisition and divestitures, consolidation, revenue, leasing, intangibles, impairment and equity accounting. Shelley is a reviewer of PwC’s key global accounting technical publications and leads training on specialised subjects to clients, state-owned and private enterprises.
Shelley was seconded to the London office of PwC UK and IASB (Practice Fellow) during the period from 2005 to 2009. She assisted PwC’s engagement teams worldwide in applying IFRS and to perform independent review on financial statements of major capital index engagements to promote consistent application of IFRS and high quality financial reporting on a global basis. In IASB, she led the IFRS 3 and IAS 27 Improvement Project.
Prior to joining GACS, Shelley had worked in Beijing for ten years. She led audit engagements with focus on global capital transaction for large-scale Chinese state-owned enterprises undergoing restructuring and listing in US, UK, Hong Kong and China. Her industry focus includes power, manufacturing, telecommunications, technology and internet portals.
Shelley is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a former chairman of its Financial Reporting Standards Committee (2016-2018). Shelley has degrees in accounting and law.
