Capital markets in 2030 - The future of equity capital markets

PwC has partnered with the Economist Intelligence Unit, asking 370 equity capital market participants from across the globe for their views on the factors that are shaping the development of global equity capital markets:

  • New York, London and Hong Kong exchanges will continue to dominate and are resilient as top venues that issuers will consider beyond their home exchange in 2030.
  • Companies from China and India are still expected to dominate future new listings.
  • Technology sector continues to generate significant demand for equity in public markets, and the competition between exchanges to attract ‘unicorns’ and ‘new economy’ companies intensifies, particularly between New York, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
