My name is Hugo. In 2018, I had the chance to join PwC through the Summer Internship.

I am an engineering student, and the diverse types of business in consulting provide me with many possibilities; for example, the projects in the Summer Internship recruitment quickly appealed to me. During this short 8 week period, I was impressed by the rigorousness and professionalism of all the project members. At the same time, the flat hierarchy gave me space to fine-tune and improve my skills. The Summer Internship experience attracted me to stay with PwC to create unlimited possibilities.

I can see that digital transformation provides more opportunities. After cooperating with customers from different financial industries, it is evident that projects now need to solve business demands by using data; ranging from top-level digital transformation planning, big data governance and data processing to the application of machine learning and other algorithms for data modelling. In these circumstances, I can leverage my engineering expertise, and solve customers' challenges by using data more efficiently and accurately to meet their business needs.

After joining PwC, it inspired me to think about the many possibilities of my future. The constantly changing environment, project types, project partners, customer needs and skill requirements, won’t change our original intention. We maintain a positive attitude of being responsible to ourselves, to the team and our customers. As independent thinkers, we strive to improve our quantitative and qualitative skills and discovering different fields. We are dedicated to building a team where everyone expresses their views and utilise their strengths while maintaining professionalism, rigour and empathy, whether dealing with customers or pursuing the highest project quality and excellence.
