“At PwC, I organised campus hacking competitions, learnt about the emerging Internet of Things, worked closely with multinational companies and cooperated with other PwC teams around the world.”

My name is Leo. I joined PwC in 2017 and I am part of the Risk Assurance team.

I got the impression that the Big Four only recruit students with accounting backgrounds. Whilst I was at university, a lot of the information system courses were taught by industry experts, including PwC consultants. IT is something I’ve always been interested in, especially cybersecurity technologies. After learning about PwC's business development in cybersecurity and the demand for IT talent, I decide to choose PwC as the start of my career. Compared with financial banks, I can get in touch with more different client groups in various industries at PwC. While compared with traditional IT companies, the business here is more diverse, plus I get to work with some very talented colleagues. These are all important reasons as to why I chose PwC.

Cybersecurity is a field that involves a wide range of knowledge, not only technology but also governance, management and compliance. In addition to a technical background, our employees are quite different from those in Internet, IT technology or security companies. They are equipped with skills for internal and external communication, management and teamwork. In that respect, the cybersecurity work here requires a more comprehensive skillset from individuals.

At PwC, I organised campus hacking competitions, gained knowledge about the emerging Internet of Things, worked closely with multinational companies and cooperated with other PwC teams around the world. Here, I have discovered many possibilities and look forward to exploring more.
