Claire Qian is the Governance, Risk and Compliance Lead Partner of PwC Mainland China & Hong Kong, as well as the Industrial Segment Leader of the Global Internal Audit practice.

With over twenty years of experience, Claire began her career in PwC Singapore’s Assurance practice before assuming the role of Corporate Lead Auditor in a prominent Singapore listed corporation. In 2008, she returned to PwC China with a primary focus on assisting clients in enhancing corporate governance, risk management, compliance, and anti-fraud areas across diverse industries. More recently, Claire has spearheaded the delivery of digitalized solutions for traditional risk, controls and compliance services and has led PwC’s internal digital initiative program across APAC territories.

Claire’s expertise has garnered recognition from various professional bodies and educational institutions, leading to invitations to host C-suite workshops, deliver keynote speeches, and participate in public events and media interviews by the CGTN and The Paper. She has been appointed three consecutive years by Shanghai National Accounting Institute to be the Selection Committee Member of “Top Ten Information Technologies Affecting China’s Accounting Practitioners”. Her contributions centre around sharing insights on the latest trends in corporate governance, risk resilience, and emerging tech-enabled solutions.

Claire is a Chairperson of Singapore Chartered Accountants’ Shanghai Chapter, a Fellow in the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). She holds the qualifications from Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and she is also a Lead Auditor for Anti-bribery Management System (ISO 37001) and Information Security Management Systems (ISO 27001), holder of EXIN Certified Privacy and Data Protection Foundation (PDPF) and CDPSE (Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer).
