Background
Serena Shi is a partner in PwC Shanghai’s Transfer Pricing Services practice. She has over fifteen years of transfer pricing experience.
Relevant experience
Serena has been involved in various transfer pricing projects, including regional tax planning and implementation, value chain analysis, transfer pricing risk assessment reviews and documentation preparation, transfer pricing audit defence and negotiation, unilateral and bilateral advance pricing arrangements (“APAs”) and competent authority (CA) negotiations, transfer pricing year-end adjustment related assistance, group value chain transformation and transfer pricing policy design.
In November 2011, Serena joined the PwC US firm on an international secondment with the Boston office, where she had spent 18 months in the transfer pricing practice and had obtained experience with intangible property modeling and valuation analyses, cost sharing, and royalty analyses. She also has experience in coordinating global core transfer pricing documentation projects.
Serena is currently leading a number of unilateral and bilateral APA and transfer pricing controversy service projects in Sichuan, Chongqing, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai for MNCs from the US and Europe of various industries and mainly including semiconductor industry, automotive industry.
Serena has provided clients in a number of industries including semiconductors, automotive, chemical products, life science/healthcare industry, medical device, industrial products/equipment, retail and consumer goods, information technology.
Qualifications
Serena received her Bachelor of Economics in Finance from East China Normal University and her Master of Law degree from Fudan University. Serena also holds a certificate of legal professional qualification in China.
