Stella was awarded her Bachelor of Economics from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in 2001 and started her career in tax and business advisory services in Shanghai thereafter. She is a member of Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA) and Certified Tax Agent (CTA). She also serves as Vice President of the Shanghai Foreign Investment Association, where she contributes to the association’s development and supports its member enterprises across Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region.

Stella assumed the role of Central China Markets Leader at PwC China effective 1 January 2024. She oversees government relations, business development and innovation ecosystem building across the central China region, covering the Yangtze River Delta Economic Belt, Sichuan-Chongqing region, Hubei, Anhui and other geographies.

Stella leads the PwC China Centre of Excellence (CCoE) team, bringing deep, demonstrated expertise in tech innovation ecosystem development across central China. The team dynamically connects PwC’s extensive resources spanning government entities, capital and investors, tech start-ups, and large corporates across diverse domestic and international sectors, fostering a co-creative, win-win tech innovation ecosystem in Shanghai and the wider central China region.

Prior to this role, Stella spent over two decades in PwC’s Shanghai Tax practice, delivering a comprehensive range of tax advisory services. She provides professional guidance to cross-industry clients on the accounting and tax implications of investment structures, specific transactions, and asset and business transfers. She also brings deep, hands-on experience advising on commercial tax matters including investment planning and feasibility studies, joint venture contracts, as well as tax strategy design and implementation for clients across various sectors.

Stella has also collaborated with the Audit practice to deliver pre-IPO tax advisory services for clients listed in mainland China and Hong Kong, including equity restructuring planning and incentive scheme design. Drawing on her specialised expertise in international tax and cross-border investment, she supports a broad portfolio of private enterprises and private entrepreneurs with their tax compliance and planning requirements.
